Choose a lawyer’s profession and enroll in the Faculty of Law of the European University of Moldova
A lawyer is a practicing specialist in the field of law with a legal education.
The term is applied to various professions: lawyers, notaries, judges, notaries, etc.
A lawyer’s work is associated with the study and analysis of information, comparison of facts, preparation and verification of documents, creation of legal opinions, interaction with clients and government agencies.
Legal professions:
- An attorney is a lawyer who ensures the protection of citizens’ rights in court and government organizations. Such employees are prohibited from engaging in commercial work, working in government agencies. Lawyers can teach, conduct scientific research. The position is available with experience of 2 years, after an internship in specialization and passing the qualification exam.
- A notary is an official empowered to perform notarial acts. Notarial practice is licensed. A license is awarded after passing a qualifying exam.
- A legal adviser is an employee of large companies engaged in legal work. He prepares contracts, checks the terms of documents, monitors the legality of transactions, and appears in court.
- An international lawyer is responsible for the legal aspects of external activities. This profession is considered prestigious, but requires the study of foreign languages and international law.
- A prosecutor is a person in the civil service who carries out activities to prevent illegal actions. He initiates public prosecution in court and is responsible for convicting criminals. Additional training is required to hold this position.
- A judge is a person with judicial power. He is responsible for compliance with the laws. Judges are endowed with immunity and a status enshrined in law. At least 5 years of experience and passing an exam are required. A judge cannot engage in entrepreneurship, political activity, or be a deputy.
- Investigator is an employee of the prosecutor’s office or investigative structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He conducts investigations of crimes. The investigator initiates criminal cases, monitors the investigation process, searches for evidence, identifies the participants of the incident, motives and reasons.
